OPERATION PATRIOT

Welcome

In 2001, the 107th Congress ammended title 36, United States Code, designaing September 11 as PATRIOT DAY in honor the individuals who lost their lives as a result of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The law asks the President to issue an annual Proclamation for PATRIOT DAY that directs the U.S. flag to be flown at half-staff and a moment of silence be observed. Presidents Bush, Obama, Trump and Biden have all signed the proclamation.

Operation Patriot is an all-volunteer, non-political, 501(c)3 nonprofit organization located in Upstate NY comprised of a diverse group of volunteers from all walks of life.

The organization was founded on September 14th, 2001 in direct response to the 9/11 terror attacks on our country. Nineteen days later on September 30, 2001, our first fundraiser / motorcycle ride was held. The ride started at The Cycle Stop HD dealership and ended at Ontario Beach Park in Rochester, NY. The ride - later dubbed "Let's Roll!" in remembrance of Todd M. Beamer of United Flight 93 - was joined by 883 registered motorcyclist showing support for first responders. Proceeds were donated to the Salvation Army's 9/11 NY City Relief Effort.

Since 2001, we've organized several 9/11 Tribute Rides, typically on the Saturday following Labor Day and/or closest to, or on, the anniversary of the attacks.

We've also added 5k runs (Trot w/ Troops) and holiday fundraising events as well as special events for W. Webster Firefighters / Greece Police Officer John Ritter, RPD officer Daryl Pierson and RPD Officer Anthony Mazurkiewicz.
